Changing the front calipers last night and although the 1st took almost 4 hours, the 2nd was done in under 1 hour. Gearbox oil changed, plugs and leads done and soundproofing added under the centre console. I can HIGHLY recommend it. Makes a HUGE difference to the sound inside the cabin...I can almost hear myself think now

I'm still sitting here in shock at how quickly we stripped that thing out, "serviced" it and got it back in.

I hope the brakes and bearings are as simple (I don't use 4 letter words such as "easy" or "just") to replace this weekend...on my own

But I feel that I am in excellent company. I just had a crazy quote from the website you suggested (20kSEK per year vs. 7kSEK per year from SOLID).

I know in the UK owners clubs very often negotiate deals with insurance companies. Perhaps someone here could take the initiative?

Jaha, of course, I forgot about the 6 month rule. This pretty much rules out russia unless I want to wait a while to join the Niva family...and I've waited long enough.

The only country where I have found cheaper prices for Niva's, is in the UK, where people don't want LHD cars.
